Consort music (early and new) is my passion and main field of specialisation. I was a member of The Royal Wind Music between 2001 and 2024, and artistic co-director of the ensemble from 2010. I am also a founding member of recorder quintet Seldom Sene. Since 2012 I am Recorder Consort Professor at the Royal College of Music in London. Since 2015 I also coach the recorder students individually on early repertoire. I've taught courses and masterclasses in the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Germany, Austria, the UK and Australia.
Besides teaching and performing, I am chief editor of 'blokfluitist', the only specialised recorder magazine in Dutch. After living in The Netherlands for almost 25 years, I am currently based in Helsinki, Finland. I visit the UK regularly to teach at RCM.
