Dianne studied Music at Royal Holloway College before taking a postgraduate course in the Performance of Early Music at the Royal College of Music. She studied recorder with Ross Winters throughout this time.
She is now a freelance music teacher, teaching recorder, singing and piano privately and in several schools, as well as conducting various choirs and ensembles and she sings with the chorus of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
She was invited onto the NYRO committee in 2005 and attended courses as a member of house staff before taking over the role of Administrator in August 2009
