I'm a professional recorder player with a mix of freelance work in performance and education. I have a particular interest in early music but love everything! I do a mix of solo and chamber music and teach all ages and abilities.
I have been teaching for over 12 years. I have a private teaching practice and also teach in schools, lead a few recorder ensembles for different ages and abilities, and tutor on various courses throughout the UK.
I love to teach all ages and abilities - everyone is welcome, regardless of what their aim is! Having a strong technique foundation is really important to me, as is introducing people to all styles of music. One thing I'm really passionate about is exploring ways to practice effectively, and aim to teach in such a way that pupils learn to do this on their own and develop good problem-solving and critical thinking minds.
